Synopsis...high pressure will build over the southwest through 
Monday with warmer daytime temperatures...light winds and generally 
clear skies. Another weather system will bring cooler temperatures 
and a chance of rain and snow showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Discussion...a high pressure ridge will bring dry conditions to 
northern Arizona today with periods of high and mainly thin cloud cover. 
Above normal high temperatures will develop this afternoon. The 
forecast package appears in good shape and no updates are planned 
this morning.

Previous discussion/230 am MST/...high pressure in the middle to upper 
levels will move across Arizona today. Weak pressure gradients will 
result in generally light winds and warmer air aloft will bring a 5 
to 10 degree warm-up of high temperatures. On Monday...the high will 
head to the east as low pressure begins to take shape over the 
western United States. The main impact will be increasing pressure 
gradients with gusty west to southwest winds of 10 to 25 miles per hour 
developing by Monday afternoon. Otherwise...high temperatures will 
remain above normal and conditions will remain dry under increasing 
high clouds. 


For Tuesday and Wednesday...models drop another weak storm across 
Arizona from the north. The main impact appears to be a cool down to 
below normal temperatures along with a chance of mountain snow and 
valley rain showers. It still appears that any precipitation will be 
on the light side. 


For Thursday into next weekend...high pressure will continue to 
dominate the weather with only a weak disturbance or two to kick-up 
daytime breezes.

Aviation...for the 18z package...expect VFR conditions for the next 
24 hours with increasing high clouds and generally light winds.
