Synopsis... 
a ridge of high pressure along with above normal temperatures and 
dry conditions will prevail through this weekend and continue 
through next week.

Discussion...satellite imagery shows quite a bit of middle and high 
level moisture streaming into the region from the southwest. In 
the short term, high pressure will weaken some today as a trough 
of low pressure moves into the Pacific northwest. Some cooling 
will occur as heights fall however this will be yet another dry 
trough passage for central California. In the wake of today's 
system forecast models keep the upper level flow from the 
northwest as high pressure out near 150w amplifies. Meanwhile 
models are in good agreement that the weak low out near 45/135w 
will drop into northeast California on Monday as the closed low 
located out near 27/140w moves towards Baja California California. With the 
main energy from the northern feature moving into the Great Basin 
and the southern system remaining well to the south this leaves 
central California dry once again. Winds will however be on the 
increase especially over the Kern County mountains and desert. 


From Wednesday through Saturday a large ridge of high pressure is 
prognosticated to build over the region with dry and rather warm weather 
for late March.

VFR conditions will prevail across the central California interior 
through 12z Monday...except for some local MVFR conditions in 
br/haze in the San Joaquin Valley between 06z and 20z.
