The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a dense
fog advisory... which is in effect until 10 am CST Thursday.
* Timing... now through 10am Thursday.
* Visibility... 1/4 mile or less with areas near the coast and
tidal lakes having the greatest threat of dense fog.
* Impacts... reduced reduced visibilities around a quarter mile or
less will create hazardous driving conditions through Thursday
morning. Drivers crossing bridges over the bays..tidal lakes and
bayous should be especially cautious as visibilities will likely
be very restricted in dense fog.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Areas of dense fog have formed over the coastal waters and tidal
lakes of southeast Louisiana this evening with visibilities likely
at 1/2 mile or less in these marine.
Motorist using over bridges crossing the tideal lakes... bayous and
coastal waters during the night should prepare for rapid decrease
in visibility with occasional visibility of 1/4 mile or less.
At late evening... dense fog has not developed over land areas of
southeast Louisiana. However... fog may become more widespread and
dense overnight and a dense fog advisory may be required late
tonight. Morning commuters should allow for extra drive time on

tonight and be prepared to encounter rapidly changing visibilities
over short distances due to the fog.
